Meeting Minutes

Jennifer Bourne, President, presiding

Jennifer Bourne, 2003-2004 PTA President called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. She welcomed the crowd of parents, caregivers, students, and teachers to the first PTA meeting of the school year. 2003-2004 PTA Officers were introduced: Traci Bostic, Vice-President; Sherri Hankins, Secretary; and Daphne Murray, Treasurer. PTA Committee chairpersons were also introduced and members were encouraged to volunteer for the committee of their choice.

Suzanne Grindstaff, TES Principal, was introduced and, thus, introduced all the teachers/staff present.

Daphne Murray presented the PTA Treasurer's Report including the 20032004 Proposed Budget. Copies of the proposed budget were distributed to PTA members both via school flyers and at the meeting. The budget was reviewed and accepted by popular vote.

Jennifer Bourne announced that TES T-Shirts were on sale as a PTA fundraising event. She reminded parents, teachers, and students that T-Shirts could be ordered by completing the order form that had been recently sent home. Ms. Bourne also briefly mentioned some of the possible fund-raising events for the year including the Spring Carnival.

The Room Count was won by Ms. Cindi Lowe, Kindergarten.

The meeting was dismissed at approximately 7:25 p.m. and attendees were encouraged to visit the classrooms for an "Open House." Refreshments were provided in the cafeteria.
