Jennifer Bourne, President, presiding
Jennifer Bourne, 2003-2004 PTA President called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. She welcomed the crowd of parents, caregivers, students, and teachers. Ms. Bourne encouraged all persons present to become official PTA members as the membership drive continues. The September meeting minutes and the October Treasurer's Report were submitted and approved.
The Tazewell High School Competition Cheerleading Squad entertained the audience with a dance/cheer routine. The squad will compete at the regional and state level later this month.
Suzanne Grindstaff, TES Principal, was introduced and encouraged all parents to be actively involved with their children's education both at school and at home.
The Third Grade classes, dressed in Greek/Roman attire, presented a short program about ancient Greece and Rome. The program consisted of singing and informational prose.
Bob Altizer presented and explained several PTA-related legal issues to the crowd. Members were asked to vote on each piece of legislation. All issues were approved by majority vote via a show of hands.
The Room Count was won by Ms. Kathy Matney, Third Grade.
The meeting was dismissed at approximately 7:40 p.m. and attendees were encouraged to visit the cafeteria for refreshments provided by the third grade hospitality committee.
